1. Visit St Fagan’s outdoor museum in Cardiff

The famed outdoor museum explores the history of Welsh life through the centuries. You can all but time travel back to a Celtic village and immediately return to the comfort of a modern nearby pub.

The St Fagan’s Museum is set in the grounds of a 16th century castle, which is great for the whole family to explore. The museum also holds a variety of events through the year and admission is completely free!

2. Explore Britain’s smallest city St. David’s in Haverfordwest

A little treasure of a city situated on the coast, named after the patron saint, this spot is where St. David lived and is now a cathedral, allows the city to name itself as Britain’s smallest city. Explore the cute attractive city shops and cafes whilst taking in the beautiful surroundings of the Pembrokeshire National Park.

3. Visit Ystradfellte Valley in Powys

As one of the most stunning natural spectacles of South Wales, walk behind the beautiful waterfall Sgwd y Eira in the Ystradfellte Valley. Take your hiking boots, you’re going to need them! As the area can be muddy. Take part in the hiking trail that you can follow from a designated carpark. The car park is chargeable, however, but if you choose to extend your hike you can find free parking in Yestradfellte or Penderyn.

4. Explore the Fforest Fawr sculpture trail near Caerphilly

Starting your trail at the fantastic Castell Coch, choose from 2 trails in the surrounding woodland: Sir Henry’s and Burge’s Way. It’s often said the most exciting is the Sculpture trail; a fun collection of wooden sculptures including wizards and dragons. It’s a great fun filled way to get the whole family involved. See the beauty of nature and enjoy a mythical encounter all at once!
